X-ray shows 11 with a possible 12th in the ribs. Amazing picture! Really crowded in there!!! Well we all miscounted! There were only 10 puppies in there - and I was glad to finally meet them!
6 puppies have already found their forever homes. I have two blue boys left. They are absolutely gorgeous, sweet, smart, playful and loving puppies.
At least 2 and possibly 3 puppies are leaving Saturday the 9th of December. If that happens I will not have any more puppies available. I am keeping a cream boy and girl to add to my breeding line. Elliott and Kissy will stay here at Callasterns Standard Poodles!
We will soon be planning and breeding for our Spring 2018 litter - a repeat breeding between Dazzle and Lucky - an all black litter. There are 8 people on the waiting list at this time.
We have 3 new graduates from the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Kindergarten class. Elliott, Kissy and Ace all attended together and graduated easily. A good time was had by all as we grew with our puppies while developing their minds more each day. Add to this reward puzzles and enrichment exercises/play and we have some happy puppies!
We have found 4 teeth recently - one was traumatic for me - a bloody mess on the front legs of a white puppy boy! He wasn't phased by it at all!
The big barks came at the beginning of February - suddenly it isn't so easy to tell the puppies from the big boys!
I always look forward to this first bath and shave. I get to see what is under all the hair they've grown! Gorgeous heads, beautifully knuckled poodle feet. Hair, hair and more hair! I'm loving these puppies so much! Only 2 left - and one person coming this weekend. If the other person gets their deposit and contract in as well, then this litter is all spoken for.
Yesterday they all got their first neo-par shot. They will get another at 7 weeks.
Got the game wings in to use during the Volhard test to see if any of the puppies have "bird attraction". One lady has beautiful poodles that participate in obedience, conformation and hunting.
After 4 days of supplementing with formula that has a canine probiotic in it the puppies will have their first meal with solids in it today! I give the probiotics to get their guts ready to digest meat. I'm sure it will be fun and messy - I'll take pictures! It is Wednesday - on Saturday they will get their first bath and blow dry and be introduced to the Dremel for their nails. It will be like Christmas unwrapping those beautiful little faces and feet for the world to see! First neo-par shots will be given next Monday.
They are playing with the toys - play-fighting (so vicious sounding LOL) and wrestling all over both boxes. They are adorable - and are already learning to come and they make great eye contact already. Most of the baby teeth have broken through now as my fingers let me know!
Already getting so attached to them - and it just gets more and more fun from this point on. I wish the rain would stop so they could go out in the grass and play - maybe this weekend.
Well - we survived the hurricane intact - and without loss of power for more than a few minutes at a time. It was loud and scary - the pups had no idea anything strange was going on except that they were moved from their whelping box to their warming box and taken downstairs - away from windows.
10 beautiful, healthy puppies born 9-3-2017. 7 white/cream and 3 silver. 7 boys, 3 girls! They are growing beautifully - Dazzle is an amazing 2nd time mom. Even with 10 pups, no need to supplement yet. Toes and Tails were done on the 6th. Thank you Shirley and Bob Davis for doing that for these sweet babies.
Tomorrow is pre-puppy spa day for Dazzle. I've already shaved her tummy and given her a "pawdicure" so not much for Zack to do but wash and dry! He's so much stronger than I am though!!
We had the ultrasound today and saw 11 little puppies with the possibility of 1-2 more hiding up in the ribs like last time.
Colors will be white/cream, blue and (hopefully) silver! SO EXCITED!!!
